We got the back yard raked, the back flower beds cleaned and bagged, the back easement raked, and even did a pretty good job of cleaning our 'icky' corner. (I know you know what I mean – everyone's got that one spot in their yard or property that they just dump the chores they'll presumably get done "later" — ours has the remains of a bush a chopped down over the summer….)
It's all in the front street curb ready for the city to come and vacuum it all up and mulch it.
Mason was a champ and came out offering to help first. He did a great job and had a great attitude. Claire came out next and worked for a little while – only to disappear into the house to try her hand at (surprise) home made hot cocoa! It was the best hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. And I'm not even exaggerating a bit. Marcus came out at the very end, which was great because we needed fresh legs to help us get through picking up the last little bits scattered throughout the yard.
Then we all worked in the kitchen to throw together a quick chicken soup and had a hearty lunch together.
After lunch Andre and I hung up a new blind in the boys' window. YAY! They really needed it.
It's still early and we've already had a great day!
